Shelter. There is a lot to say about shelter. And as we've been going through these survival essentials, I again want to point out that the first four, the very first section, preparing and training, the very second section, stop and first aid, the third section, mental clarity and focus, the fourth section, navigation and signaling. Those four are all about you on the inside doing things in there to make yourself do things on the outside that are effective to not just save your life and survive, but to design a lifestyle, a way of living without fear. A way of living that you know Mother Earth, you know Father Spirit, and you know yourself. The second half, the last four of the survival essentials, water questing, and then there's shelter creation, there's the uh fire making, and there's the uh food gathering. So water shelter, fire food, basics resources. So when we look at that, now we're kind of looking at the outside. Okay, where can I go get water to drink? How can I make shelter to keep myself safe? How can I go about locating food and nourishment? How can I create fire, keep myself warm, and purify water and cook food, etc. So as we went through the fifth section of water questing, I did my best to point out the significance of water on the highest levels of thinking that we can possibly get to as to what water really is for us on this planet. So that we just don't keep thinking about the oh god, I hope there's enough water, and it just keeps coming coming out of our taps. We live more in fear of if there's enough water rather than giving thanks for all the water that we are and that we do have. So now we're into shelter. We're into this whole thing about shelter, and shelter is about keeping yourself safe from the harsh elements of this world. So when you're in a wilderness survival situation and a blizzard hits, you you want to get out of that blizzard. When you're in a wilderness survival situation and you're in the dead heat of a 125-degree desert, you want to get out of that heat. You want to find shelter. We're always doing what we can to keep ourselves protected from the harsh elements of this world, one way or another. You think about it on this metaphoric level here, you know, and how we shelter ourselves from invasive personalities, other human behaviors, hurtful things of this world, you know. So uh, what do we allow into our encampment, our into our shelters, ourselves? What information do we allow in there that's not conducive to the type of shelter we want? Because when you're looking to get out of the harsh elements of this world, you want to find something safe. You want to find like a sanctuary, you want to find something. You don't want to go in a bear den and then wonder, okay, I'd uh would I rather be eaten by the bear or freeze in the blizzard? No, there's a better solution, remember, okay? Mental clarity and focus. Fact-based solution-oriented. That's number three. So remember, there's always a solution, always a way to and through. So there's this whole idea about what shelter is in this introduction here to shelter. We're looking for shelter. Okay, so in a wilderness survival situation, and you know, whatever the scenario is, blizzard or whatever, okay, we're looking to find something. Hopefully, we can find something that is natural. If you've ever been out hiking in the wilderness or spending time out camping or walking around, you've probably come across little places where there's maybe like an overgrowth of brush, and you can see like a little den type thing. Or when you're maybe in the desert, you can see little uh outcroppings of a rock where you could crawl in underneath and get into the shade or sleep like that. So there's always these natural types of shelters. Those are what we're looking for initially. So when we're in a situation, in a we'll know a survival situation, and we are trying to protect ourselves from the harsh elements, then we're scanning, see, we're we're looking. We are looking for something that we can hide in, get out of this situation, if you will. Okay, so then we do that, and and let's say that we find something, and but it's it's temporary for a minute, you know. It's it's not what we really want, and we're not getting the help we need, so we've got to better our situation. It was a rough night, say, you know, you found your shelter, but it was a rough night, and now you want to make it better. So you get busy making it better, or you get busy looking for another place, or you design your own shelter. So, or you might come across something nowadays, there's uh what we might call uh human resources or trash, if you will, so tarps, uh things that we can find in the wilderness that somehow got there or left behind by others that can help us to structure a type of shelter as well. You'll see a lot of the uh in the cities, a lot of the homeless encampments, uh, they are now using tarps to keep themselves sheltered. And, you know, yes, there's a lot of different types of tents, but when you are without any kind of man-made substance whatsoever, and you have to rely completely upon Mother Earth, it's best that you know how to work with her. So this is why we offer different courses in how you can go about learning all of these skills. And this is why it's imperative to teach yourself and to teach your children so they can teach their children. See, because we're all gonna keep living on this earth, and we want to know how to live in our modern wilderness and in the raw wilderness, both very effectively. You don't want to go out camping and be afraid and that you know you're not gonna be able to get back to your home. You don't want to be at home thinking, oh my gosh, you got to get out of here. You want to feel good in your shelter. See, that's what I'm talking about here. You want to feel safe and protected, keeping yourself safe and protected from the harsh elements of this planet we're on. And I'm telling you, in our modern wilderness, there are a lot of harsh elements. And so, how do you go about keeping yourself safe and protected physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually on a moment-to-moment basis? And how do you go about if you have family, children, etc., instilling within them through your example, the uh exact ways of doing the same thing? So, shelters. Wow, there's a lot of different types uh that I was saying you can find these natural little shelters along the way. You can begin to design your own shelters. There's names for these shelters, like you can you can build a lean to or you can build a uh a tripod type of a teepee or uh kind of a wiki up type of shelter. You can design what's called debris huts. In other words, how can you build a shelter that is completely waterproof by only using the elements of the earth without taking any live material? Well, I can promise you it is possible. And usually, depending on the terrain you're in and what resources are available, okay, you can put one of these shelters together in about 45 minutes to an hour that's going to keep you very insulated, very warm, very protected, and then you can begin to enhance, you can begin to expand, making it more comfortable, more livable, or you know, finding another place where you're going to have all of your resources where you will have access to water, shelter, fire, and food. That's the prime. That's what we want. We want to design our lives in a way by doing things each and every day that are adding to the ultimate of having the not just understanding, but the actual living of there's more than enough of all of these things, these beautiful things to enjoy, to live in peace, to share with others. You know, why don't we share all of this that we have with others? We want things, but we want others to have those as well, see? So when someone comes to your encampment and they don't have water, are you going to send them on their way? So when you're in a wilderness situation, real wilderness situation, and you're out there, think about it. If you'd come across a little teeny water hole, and you know you're trying to stay alive and you get enough, and they're in the same situation that you were, and you don't think you have enough water. So you do not want this person to get your water. That's not the way. You want to know there's more than enough water. You want to help spread this love and instill this idea that there's more than enough and that life is sacred, and that we can all have our water, shelter, fire, and food in the most abundant and beautiful and wholesome ways that lends longevity to our life here upon this planet. Just some stuff to think about. We're going to get really in depth about the basics of all of these things, okay? We have uh four exclusive segments in these podcasts that we'll be doing in relation to shelter, and then we will have our review on shelter, and we'll be moving into uh the uh other two sections of uh fire creation and food gathering. So stick with us, and we hope you are blessed and safe and doing well. We will talk to you on our next podcast.
